
The third seed duo of Ranjeet Singh and Uday Singh Mann upset top seed Sean Yip and Pranav Suri by 4-2, 4-1 to grab the U-16 doubles title in the ongoing AITA tournament being held at the CLTA courts in Chandigarh. Meanwhile, top seed pair of Paramveer Singh Bajwa and Param Pun pipped second seed partners Aryaman Agarwal and Yash Yadav by 4-1, 4-2 to claim the U-12 title.
In the U-16 boys singles category, CHART trainees Ranjeet Singh and Kamal Kishore Maderna stormed into the final making full use of the local conditions. Ranjeet upset top seed Pranav Suri 7-6(2), 6-0 to sbook his place in the final while in the second semifinal, second seed Kamal Kishore Maderna overpowered Nirbhay Singh Soin with ease.

In the girls U-16 semifinals wild card Bhavya Wadhawan prevailed over fifth seed Harsimran Kaur 6-2, 6-2. She will take on unseeded Aashima Garg in the final. Aashima outplayed Pooja Mourya 6-1, 7-5 in the other semifinal. In girls’ U-12 semifinal, Jennifer Luikham blanked Abhisha Jindal by 6-0, 6-0. In the second semifinal, Saumya Saxema had to fight tough battle to beat Rubani Ahluwalia in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.
