Mr Michel Wurth the member of the group management board of ArcelorMittal during an exclusive interview by China Business News disclosed that ArcelorMittal are discussing with China Oriental Group to jointly found steel sheet piling Production Company and with Arcelor Mittal technological support and the steel sheet made in China can come true.

Before, Arcelor Mittal mainly cooperated with European architectural company to jointly develop China steel sheet piling market by participating into domestically infrastructure construction. Nevertheless, Japanese and South Korean steel makers start to increase the export for steel sheet piling products to Chinese market and the market shares are being gradually carved up.

As per report, there are still no domestic steelmakers have the ability to yield this high end product. The domestic consumption of steel sheet piling products mainly depends on foreign steelmakers. However, the domestic leading steelmakers like Baosteel, Masteel have already listed the HR steel sheet piling into the building schedule, yet the technology of this product is very difficult to make breakthrough.

Mr Michel Wurth told the reporter that Arcelor Mittal technology takes a global lead in producing steel sheet piling and by the joint cooperation with China Oriental Group and they can fully compete against Japanese steelmakers.

As per Arcelor Mittal top level insider the cooperation agreement is on the way and it is predicted that the production lines will be built in Hebei province.
