According to Inner Mongolia based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co, its 159 mm seamless steel pipe line has successfully produced J55 oil country tubular goods with the first shipment of 1,120 tonnes of these products recently being completed to Shanxi Province-based Chinese oil and gas exploration company Shanxi Yanchang Petroleum Co.

Baogang stated that its 159 mm seamless steel pipe line, which was put into production in September this year, now produces a full range of steel tubes for the oil industry. The production line has an annual output capacity of 400,000 tonnes and is able to produce steel pipes of 38mm to 168.3 mm diameter and 2.9mm to 25 mm thickness.
