It is reported that Inner Mongolia based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co stated that since being put into production on September 23 this year its 159 mm seamless steel pipe line has produced 13,000 tonnes of steel pipes. Baogang expects the production line to gradually achieve its designed annual capacity of 400,000 tonnes.

The 159 mm seamless steel pipe line is a major project in Baogang structural adjustment plan. It produces seamless steel pipes in a diameter range of 38mm to 168.3 mm and in thicknesses of 2.9mm to 25 mm.

With its new production line, Baogang seamless steel pipe mill now has six production lines with an overall annual production capacity of 2 million tonnes.
