It is reported that Baosteel transportation department Majishan port has finished 0.2 billion tonnes of throughput.

The port has started operation at the end of 2002 and keeps the annual throughput of 25 million tonnes these years which surpasses 25% of the designed capacity creating a lot of new records.

In October 2007, Majishan port second-stage project has finished construction and starts operation, which made its annual designed throughput jump to 50 million tonnes from the 20 million tonnes before.

Last year was the first year which combined the first stage and second stage started production, the company overcame the difficulties resulted from the world financial crisis to ensure the safe and hi-efficiency operation. In that year, the throughput reached 50 million tonnes per year.

For more than six years, Majishan port insists on the goal of surpassing the first-class world port all the way by solving a series of extra size ship turnover problems. It has successfully discharged the largest bulk cargo ships in the world, refreshing many records in China's and world history. Furthermore, Majishan has also contributed a lot to the local economic development.
