Ever since this year, Baosteel has consecutively increased factory prices of all kinds of steel products,
Within the March pricing policy announced on February 15, Baosteel has continued rising the prices of its main products, with a rising level from CNY 200 per tonne to CNY 600 per tonne.
According to BaoSteel’s futures price in March, the price of hot rolled coil has increased by CNY 300 per tonne, the price of pickled steels has increased by CNY 200 per tonne, the price of automobile steels has again increased by CNY 100 per tonne while the price of oriented electrical steels has increased by CNY 600 per tonne being the sharpest price rise. Besides, products such as galvanized steels, pre painted steels and medium plates have all different levels of price rise.
Baosteel is the second large sized steel enterprise to announce price rise in March, as Wugang has just announced the prices of its main products by the rising level from CNY 200 per tonne to CNY 400 per tonne on February 14. However, the fact that Baosteel and Wugang steel has successively announced price rise hasn’t yet stimulated China’s steel market to go upward.
According to monitoring statistics, because there is corresponding demand increase, the main ordering prices of products such as rebar and high-speed line have maintained stableness on February 16, and market transaction volume has remained low.
