Baosteel Group Xinjiang Bayi Steel produced over 5.4043 million tonnes in 2009 increase of 11.65%YoY with 100% sales output ratio, and overfulfilled profit target of the Group Corporation.

In coping with severe market situation and demand variation brought by negative impact of global financial crisis, Xinjiang Bayi Steel timely adjusted product sizes and varieties accelerated new product R&D to enhance competitiveness through differentiation. Last year, it developed 14 new products in accumulated over 1 million tons, among which series of pipeline and automobile girder steel facilitated independent innovation and technological breakthrough with new processes and methods.

Since commissioning, medium and heavy plate project accumulatively produced 180,000 tons steel with daily output of over 2,000 tons. Xinjiang Bayi Steel products of construction material, medium and heavy plates, hot and cold rolled plates, colored zinc-coated plates, welded pipes and metal works in full specifications have been widely used in industries of petrochemical, coal, wind power, automobile and railway.

Last year, Xinjiang Bayi Steel had followed closely on tracking large important projects of boosting domestic needs in the autonomous region and provided full range service. Its products were applied in key projects of old and dilapidated housing comprehensive renovation of Kashi old city area, over 10,000-mu greenhouse building in Tulufan, petroleum and railway construction. Meanwhile, Xinjiang Bayi Steel worked in full strength to build mobile supermarket for steel products and increased product market share within the autonomous region to near 70%.
