On October 30th, Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd was conferred quality organization prize in 1st Shanghai Mayor Quality Prize awarding ceremony held by Shanghai Municipal Government.

Mr Han Zheng, mayor of Shanghai presented the ceremony and conferred the prizes. Mr Xu Lejiang Chairman of Baosteel Group Corporation attended the ceremony. Mr Zhou Jianfeng vice GM of Baosteel Co Ltd received the certificate on behalf of Baosteel.

In his speech, Mr Han Zheng mentioned that “Baosteeel, excelling in quality was example for enterprises to learn from. Quality is where Shanghai vitality, good image and competitiveness lie. Quality consciousness and advanced quality management experience should be integrated in all aspects of economic and social development in order to further enhance comprehensive competitiveness of Shanghai in the process of boosting four centers development.”

Shanghai Mayor Quality Prize is first domestic quality encouragement system set up in the name of provincial level governmental principal, as well as the highest level quality prize in Shanghai measuring prominence in quality. This prize is mainly awarded to organizations with remarkable managerial performances in quality management and individuals with outstanding contributions to quality development aimed at promoting philosophy of pursuing quality excellence in all trades, facilitating advanced and efficient quality management methods and continuously improving quality management capability and quality consciousness of the whole society in Shanghai.

Mr Fan Bingxun Chairman of Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co Ltd won individual prize.
