Baosteel held a new era of steel 2010 Baosteel Group Social Responsibility Report Issuing Conference and Baosteel Building System Integration Co Ltd inauguration ceremony in Pudong, Shanghai. Baosteel Group Corporation general manager Mr He Wenbo, China Construction Metal Structure Association chair Mr Yao Bing, SASAC Research Council director Mr Wu Zhe, the UN Global Compact Association China Network Center director, Mr Chen Ying attended the ceremony and inaugurated for Baosteel Building System Integration Co Ltd.
A child solo saffron kicked off the ceremony. Synchronized video featuring Baosteel aid to Tibet showed Tibet Zhongba province rapid development and its urban and rural areas improvement during these 10 years which impressed the guests very much.
On the ceremony, Baosteel announced its 2010 Social Responsibility Report. The Report describes Baosteel latest corporate social responsibility practice in 2010 from the three basic options and the three priority options. It fully discloses Baosteel vision in the new round of planning to become a leader in steel technology, a driver of the green industry a model of jointly development between employees and the enterprise and the three changes and five capacities which are needed for achieving this vision. 2010 was the Expo year as the World Expo global partner Baosteel contributed to Expo in the steel supply, transport information system management, catering and dispatching Party workers and volunteers.
To this end, the report sets the Expo section in particular. The video new era of steel demonstrates Baosteel work and activities in fulfilling social responsibility in the last year from the aspects of employee, community and supply chain. It reflects Baosteel concept of humanity, social harmony and green environment and Baosteel awareness and practice of social responsibility.
Ms Chen Ying gave a high evaluation when commenting Baosteel 2010 Social Responsibility Report. She said that Baosteel upheld the core values of integrity, synergy actively promoted the structural adjustment, made efforts in changing business development mode, enhanced the enterprise competitiveness with technology innovation, environmental protection, information technology as the key and vigorously strengthened communication and cooperation with supply chain enterprises and customers.
Baosteel spreads the concept of corporate responsibility to the whole industrial chain, influences and promotes a large number of related enterprises, gives full play of the role of industry leader and sets an example for the Chinese iron and steel enterprises to achieve sustained healthy development in the new situation. I hope that Baosteel will achieve new and greater progress in the field of social responsibility and lead the Chinese steel industry in successful restructuring and upgrading and contribute to China and the world economy sustainable development.
In his speech Mr He Wenbo thanked the long-term support for Baosteel from customers, suppliers, the general people, government departments and news media. Baosteel has always regarded value creation, integrity based management and environmental protection as the basis, regarded the employees, communities and supply chain as the priority options and fulfils their social responsibilities. Baosteel chooses environmental management and sustainable development and harmony with the nature and society.
In future, Baosteel will be guided by scientific development concept and, with promoting industrial restructuring, changing the mode of development, leading the development of the industry as a foothold will realize the development pattern change from steel to material from manufacturing to service and from China to the global.
