
It is reported that Baosteel Group has planned to set up a steel beverage can plant in Vietnam to meet the increasing demand from Southeast Asian market and this plant will be the company first plant of steel beverage cans in overseas market.
As per report, Baosteel has developed two piece can industry for several years. The company makes new breakthrough in strategic layout, market expanding, technological innovation, brand building etc. By now, it cumulatively has produced and sold two-piece cans of more than 10 billion.
An unnamed official said it is just a plan but not yet to start construction. It’s said that Baosteel might set up this plant in the Singapore Industrial Park which is not far away from Hanoi.
Although Baosteel refused to reveal the details about this plant, it’s predicted that the new plant might have about the same scale as the company steel beverage can facilities in China.
Currently, beverage producers like Coca Cola has adopted more and more steel cans to replace aluminium cans for the sake of lower cost for steel cans than aluminium cans.
