China Knowledge reported that CLP Holdings Ltd subsidiary CLP Group has agreed to sell a 70% stake in a power plant at Anshui in Guizhou Province to China Guodian Corp for CNY 750 million.
In a statement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, CLP Holdings said that CLP Group will continue to develop renewable energy and clean energy projects.
Upon the completion of the deal, CLP will have approximately 4,600 megawatts of power generation capacity in China including 900 MW in renewable energy projects.
In February, CLP said that it was considering selling off its business in India or interests in coal fired power plants in China to fund overseas expansion.
