China Knowledge reported that COSCO Pacific Ltd, Asia third largest container terminal operator container throughput in December 2010 was 4.13 million twenty-foot equivalent units or TEUs 12.8% more than in the same month of 2009.

As per report, last month the listed firm container throughput surged 22.7%YoY to 1.52 million TEUs in the Bohai Economic Rim but slid 0.7%YoY to 784,700 TEUs in the Yangtze River Delta. In the Pearl River Delta and Southeast Coast, the container throughput was 1.36 million TEUs up by 15.6%YoY.

In 2010, COSCO Pacific container throughput totaled 48.52 million TEUs, 19.4% more than in 2009. Container throughput in the Bohai Economic Rim, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta & Southeast Coast was up 18%YoY, 16.8%YoY and 20.9%YoY respectively.

The company overseas container throughput totaled 5.43 million TEUs last year up by 24.2%.
