
China Knowledge reported that Changan Mazda, a joint venture between Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd and Japan based Mazda Motor Corp aims to expand its dealer network to second and third tier cities in China, adding 60 dealers to increase its network to 200 by the end of this year.
Changan Mazda in the first half of this year reached only 36% of its annual sales target of 2011 but the company is still confident to meet the sales goal on a newly launched model Mazda 3 Xingcheng.
Mr Yamada Noriaki chairman and CEO of Mazda China said the firm has downwardly revised its 2011 sales target by 8% to 260,000 vehicles.
Japanese auto manufacturer Mazda also aims to sell more than 2 million vehicles worldwide in 2015 of which 24% or about 400,000 units are expected to be sold in China.
