
Reuters quoted the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said China, the world largest steel and copper consumer has more than achieved its 2010 target to shut down inefficient industrial material capacity.
China has put industry restructuring at the top of its list of priorities for the 2011-2015 period as it tries to curb pollution and energy waste, as well as to encourage the development of high-tech sectors.
Following is a table showing how much capacity of industrial materials varying from steel to power China shut down last year.
