
China Knowledge reported that China Shipping Container Lines Co Ltd China second-largest cargo-box carrier suffered a loss of CNY 951 million in the third quarter as a sharp decrease in revenue, after losing CNY 630 million in the first half.
The company said in its third quarter that its operating revenue was CNY 7.2 billion down by 36% from CNY 11.3 billion in the same period of last year.
In the first nine months, the company loss reached CNY 1.58 billion and losses per share were nearly CNY 0.14. Operating revenue totalled CNY 21.17 billion in the first nine months down by 22.62%YoY from CNY 27.36 billion in the corresponding period of last year.
China COSCO Holdings Co Ltd the fifth largest container terminal operator in the world reported a net loss of CNY 2.71 billion for the first half of 2011 mainly dragged down by lackluster global economy.
