As China steel industry development heads to the peak point following several years of rapid growth, the overcapacity issue is cropping up. The relevant person from PRC Ministry of Industry and Information Technology indicated that China steel consumption will reach the peak area, roughly 800 million tonnes and the whole industry will perform with slow growth and low profit.

The crucial task for China steel industry during 12th Five Year Plan lies in improving steel products standards and accelerating upgrading.
