China Knowledge reported that Hyundai Motor Co, the top carmaker in South Korea saw 20% of its total autos were sold in China making the country again its biggest auto market worldwide.

In August 2011, Hyundai Motor sold 98,044 vehicles, excluding imported Hyundai and Kia autos in China up by 12.5%YoY.

Beijing Hyundai and Dongfeng Yueda Kia, two joint ventures of Hyundai Motor in China saw its auto sales for last month reach 63,000 units and 35,000 units respectively.

The South Korean automaker global sales grew to 461,941 units in August 2011 YoY.
