China Knowledge quoted according to figures from the National Development and Reform Commission, China total logistics expense grew 11.9% YoY to CNY 4.1 trillion in the first six months of this year.

The growth rate was 0.3 percentage points lower than that in the first quarter and 6.4 percentage points lower than that in the same period of 2011. Of the total expense, CNY 2.1 trillion was transportation cost, up 10.7% YoY, CNY 1.5 trillion was storage cost up by 12.8% YoY and CNY 500 billion was management cost up by 14.1%YoY.

The value of goods transported by logistics industry grew 10% YoY to CNY 83.6 trillion in the first six months. The growth rate was 3.7 percentage points lower than that in the corresponding period of 2011. The value included CNY 76.4 trillion of industrial products and CNY 5.6 trillion of imported goods up by 10.5%YoY and 4.2%YoY respectively.

The logistics industry saw its value-added output rise at a lower growth of 10.3% YoY to CNY 1.6 trillion in the 6 month period.
