China Knowledge quoted according to statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers China sales of passenger cars including minibuses amounted to 1.12 million units in July this year up by 10.71% YoY but down 12.77% MoM.

Last month, the sales of SUVs surged 29.62% from a year earlier to 161,600 units and the sales of sedans increased 8.63% YoY to 786,200 units. The sales of MPVs edge up 0.86% YoY to 37,100 units, and sales of minibuses dropped 3.8%YoY to 135,300 units.

In Jul, the top three passenger car sellers in China were FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co, Shanghai General Motors Co Ltd and Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd whose sales were 108,100 units, 96,300 units and 75,400 units respectively.

In the first seven months of this year, the country passenger car sales amounted to 8.74 million units up by 7.53%YoY. The sales of SUVs grew 31.66% YoY to 1.01 million units during the period.

The sales of MPVs, sedans and minibuses climbed 3.62%, 5.91% and 0.05% YoY to 285,800 units, 6.02 million units and 1.33 million units in the seven-month period respectively.
