
According to Mr Deng Qilin chairman of China Iron & Steel Association noted optimistically in the association’s 2010 director meeting, China apparent consumption of crude steel is expected to reach 610 million tonnes to 620 million tonnes in 2010, gaining 8% to 10% from 2009, if this year fix assets investment will grow by 20% from 2009. Total retail sales of social consumer goods by 16%, foreign traders by 8%,
However, experts in steel industry thought the apparent consumption would post at some 600 million tonnes in 2010 up by 6.2% from last year, due to the limits from resources, energy, environment protection, trade protectionism and the uncertainties in social investment.
