It is reported that Harbin Dongan Auto Engine plans to invest CNY 531 million and CNY 156 million to develop dual-variable valve timing small displacement vehicle engine and petrol engines.

The annual capacity of the facility that produces dual-VVT small-displacement vehicle engine will be 100,000 units while the annual capacity of the facility for small displacement petrol engines will be 50,000 units. The two facilities are slated to be operational by 2013.

Dongan Engine also plans to invest CNY 197 million to construct a facility to make six-speed transmissions used in small displacement passenger cars with annual capacity of 50,000 units. The facility will be operational by 2013.

Construction on the aforementioned facilities has received the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
