
China Knowledge quoted China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the country quality watchdog said Fiat SpA an Italian auto producer, has started recalling 1,223 imported vehicles in mainland China on Wednesday to fix problems that could result in safety risks.
The GAQSIQ said in a statement that the recall involves the models Fiat Bravo 198 MT and 198 MTA that were imported in 2008 and 2011.
The automaker said that the linker between rear brake-caliper frame and floating caliper could rupture.
According to the statement that GAC Fiat Automobiles Co Ltd, the joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd and the Italian carmaker will replace the rear brake caliper with stronger ones for free.
A spokesperson of the JV said GAC Fiat Automobiles currently has no plans to produce Chrysler vehicles in China.
