Ford Motor China sales in 2011 up by 7pct YoY

China Knowledge reported that Ford Motor Co, the second-largest car company in the US sold 519,390 cars in China in 2011 up by 7%YoY.

Last month, Ford and its China joint ventures delivered 49,238 vehicles up by 10%YoY.

Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co, Ford Motor passenger vehicle joint venture in China, sold a total of 320,658 vehicles last year reflecting an increase of 5%YoY. The JV sold 30,788 Ford-brand wholesale vehicles last month up by 4%YoY.

Jiangling Motors Co, Ford Motor commercial vehicle JV saw its auto sales volume amount to 194,600 units last year up by 9%YoY.

Mr David Schoch Chairman and CEO of Ford Motor China said that the company plans to introduce 15 new models to the Chinese market by 2015 to further expand its presence in the world largest auto market.
Schoch expected its auto plants in Chongqing and Nanchang of Jiangxi Province to start operation in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
