According to Mr Zhang Wubin, Chief Strategist Analyst of Guangdong Steel, Guangdong province, one of the largest home appliance and auto producers in China has consumed 14 million tonnes of CR products in 2010. The figure is expected to grow to 17 million tonnes by 2015.

Mr Zhang believed, the growth of auto and home appliance industry will bring opportunities to CR products and the total consumption of Guangdong province will exceed 17 million tonnes by 2015.

Guangdong province's GDP has ranked No.1 across the country for the 22nd straight year, whose steel consumption accounted for about 10% of the nation's total in the past five years.

The sales volume of Guangdong's home appliance industry has surpassed CNY500 billion in 2010 and steel consumption of the industry totalled 5.4368 million tonnes. It is expected that home appliance industry in Guangdong province will use 7.13 million tonnes of steel products in 2015, an increase of 1.70 million tonnes compared to 5.43 million tonnes in 2010.

Guangdong's auto production ranked No.5 across the country and it is expected to have steel consumption of 4 million tonnes in 2015.
