China Metallurgical News reported that Handan Steel, under Hebei Steel Group successfully developed US standard SS50-1 galvanized sheet days ago and initially divided the new products into three sizes by thickness: 2.3mm, 2.5mm and 3.0mm.

As introduced by the producer, each performances of the new product were proved qualified. The price for SS50-1 would be priced CNY 100 per tonne more than other common construction steels. The success is reported to bring the producer a new point of benefit growth and further improve the percentage of high value added products in its product mix.

The development of SS50-1 is reported to fulfill the supply contract of 540 tons of construction steel.

As per report, Handan Steel already yielded 395 tonnes of the new products.
