It is reported that Hebei Province based Chinese steelmaker Handan Iron and Steel Co a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, has announced that in the January to August period this year its total flat rolled steel exports amounted to 446,500 tonnes up 34.48%YoY.

In this period, the sales revenue from the company’s flat rolled steel exports exceeded the revenues from its domestic sales of the products in question by CNY 90 million. In particular, in the first eight months this year Handan Steel exported 202,000 tonnes of flat rolled steel to South America, double its exports to that destination in the same period last year.

In the given period, Handan Steel exported flat rolled steel products included hot rolled coil and color coated coils made according to European and American standards as well as high-strength galvanized sheet. In addition, Handan Steel also supplied steel sheets to Spain based Gestamp Automoción which is a leader in the European automotive industry.
