It is reported that Chinese steelmaker Hanzhong Iron and Steel, a subsidiary of Chinese steel producer Shaanxi Steel Group has successfully commissioned its converter furnace No 1.

The construction of the converter furnace No. 1 is part of Hanzhong Steel's Jianan program which includes a continuous casting project and a converter furnace project.

The program has a designed annual steel production capacity of 3 million tonnes.
