It is reported that Chinese company Harbin Xingping Industrial and Trade Co plans with the assistance of China Iron and Steel Research Institute Group to build a facility for the production of high strength earthquake resistant rebar in the county of Bayan, Heilongjiang Province.

The project, valued at CNY 1 billion is expected to have an annual output of 300,000 tonnes and to fill a gap in the market for the rebar products in question in the three North Eastern provinces of China.
