Hong Kong scrap imports soar by 32%YoY in 2008

It is reported that Hong Kong imported 516,695 tonnes of scrap in 2008 increased by 32.3%YoY compared to the same period of last year.
America was the largest exporter of scrap to Hong Kong at 189,619 tonnes up by 83%YoY.
China exported 98,778 tonnes of scrap to Hong Kong down by 13% from last year. Meanwhile, Japan provided 42,594 tonnes down by 6.9%YoY compared to the previous year.
