
Interfax-China reported that China Huadian New Energy Development Co Ltd signed an agreement with Suntech Power Holdings Co Ltd on July 20th to develop photovoltaic power projects.
According to the report, the two companies will work together on several rooftops solar power projects in China's eastern regions including Shanghai Municipality and Jiangsu Province.
The companies also plan to develop 500 MW of PV power projects over the next three years in the country's northwestern regions, such as Qinghai Province and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The size of each project will range from 10 MW to 50 MW of installed capacity.
Mr Fang Zheng general manager of Huadian New Energy said that the company expects to complete a 1.4 MW solar roof project in Shanghai this year. In May, the Shanghai branch of the National Development and Reform Commission gave the company the go-ahead to develop two more such projects with 1 MW and 2 MW of installed capacity.
Huadian New Energy is the renewable energy development subsidiary of China Huadian Corp.
