Hunan Xiangtou Goldsky Titanium Metal Co Ltd China has placed an order with SMS Siemag, Germany for the supply of a 20 roll cold rolling mill.

Our supply scope comprises the mechanical equipment and media technology and the supervision of erection and commissioning. The 20 roll cold rolling mill will be erected in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province and is an important milestone for Hunan Xiangtou Goldsky as regards access to the production of top-quality titanium strip.

The new Mono-Block stand in the MB 22B-52“ series will be used for rolling strips in the TA1, TA2 and TA3 range in widths up to 1,300 mm.

The incoming gages reach a maximum of 4.0 mm which can then be rolled down to final gages of as little as 0.4 mm. The total drive power of the rolling mill is 4,790 kW. This allows rolling speeds of up to 400 meters per minute. This cold rolling mill will achieve an annual production of 10,000 tonnes.

Among the special features of the plant is the Supafine filter system, which is adapted to the special requirements of the rolling of titanium. Manufacturing and pre assembly of the 20 roll cold rolling mill will be carried out in our Hilchenbach shops.

The pre-assembly of the mill modules and the performance of comprehensive functional tests guarantee problem free erection and commissioning as well as rapid commencement of production.
