It is reported that the feasibility study of Zhenglanqi to Zhangjiakou Railway which connects Jining Tongliao Railway and Beijing to Baotou Railway won approval. Up to CNY 500 million will be channeled this year.

Coal will dominate the railings of the new line, which will attract CNY 5.93 billion. Of the total length of 226 kilometers about 60 kilometers will be within the territory of Xilingol. The 60 kilometers will cost CNY 600 million. Zhenglanqi to Zhangjiakou Railway will bolster coal mining in eastern Inner Mongolia.
