
China Knowledge reported that Jaguar Land Rover, British based automaker owned by TATA Motors of India auto sales in China grew nearly 100%YoY to 36,451 units in the first half of this year.
From January to June, the sales of Land Rover reached 32,177 units, almost double the 16,322 units it realized in the same period of 2011. The sales of Land Rover Evoque model surpassed 10,000 units during the six month period.
By the end of last month, the British based automaker had 130 authorized dealers in China, of which 90 of them had put into operation.
In May 2012, Jaguar Land Rover inked an agreement with Chery Automobile Co Ltd, the largest private automaker in China to set up an assembly plant in Changshu, Jiangsu Province. With a total investment of CNY 12 billion, the new plant will have an annual output capacity of 130,000 vehicles.
