According to the industry resources, Dafeng port in East China Jiangsu province saw its coal distribution center listed as one of the country coal-handling base for strategic reserves.

Following the announcement, officials with the port decided to spare no efforts to develop coal warehousing and logistics business and meanwhile establish a trading department for better cooperation with Qinhuangdao port-based coal mining enterprises and those located in neighboring areas.

The port's coal throughput has reached 3.6 million tonnes per annum.

The demand for the fuel in and around Yancheng has increased to 10 million tonnes per annum thanks to growing number of industrial projects. Coal shipping via Dafeng port will effectively reduce enterprises’ transportation cost and shorten delivery time.

Yancheng Power Generating Co Ltd which consumed more than 800,000 tonnes of coal per annum said that it saved CNY 4 million every year after transporting coal at Dafeng port.
