According to Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jiangsu Yonggang Group, in order to help it achieve its steelmaking output target of 8 million tonnes during China 12th five-year plan period (2011-15) the group plans to invest nearly CNY 6 billion on many logistics projects including ports and logistics centers.

In January to November this year Jiangsu Yonggang Group produced 4.46 million tonnes of crude steel and 4.67 million tonnes of rolled steel products, while its sales revenue totaled CNY 28.7 billion. In the same period, its comprehensive energy consumption per ton of steel produced was 579 kg of standard coal equivalent, power consumption per metric ton of steel was 390 kWh, fresh water consumption per metric ton of steel was 2.8 tonnes while the utilization rate of recycled water was 98.2%.
