
It is reported that Gansu Province based Chinese steelmaker Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co has stated that its water consumption per metric ton of steel produced has hit a record low this year for the successive second year.
In the January to July period of the current year, the water consumption of Jiuquan Steel per metric ton of steel produced was 4.52 cubic meters reflecting a decrease of 0.63 cubic meters or 12.06%YoY.
In 2010, the water consumption of Jiuquan Steel per metric ton of steel produced was 4.96 cubic meters indicating a decrease of 0.49 cubic meters YoY also constituting a record low.
