Nikkei cited Mr Tadaharu Ohashi Chairman of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd as saying that the company will take action if it turns out that China in fact has filed for patents on high speed trains made using Japanese technologies.
He said that "We will take some kind of action if this violates contracts signed between Japan and China. But because the details are still unclear, we should not act in haste."
It was reported last week that China railroad ministry had filed patent applications in five countries and regions, including the US, for high speed train technologies supplied by Kawasaki Heavy and other firms.
