Kobe Welding of Shanghai Co Ltd, a group company of Kobe Steel, Ltd, marked its official start of business with an opening ceremony in Shanghai, China on December 3rd 2010.

KWSH markets welding consumables, welding robot systems and parts, as well as provides maintenance services. Established in February 2010, KWSH began business operations in April. A welding robot has recently been installed at a demonstration space in the office.

Demand in China for welding consumables continues to be strong for energy related projects and is anticipated to expand. Orders are also strong for welding robot systems, owing to firm demand from the construction machinery field.

Offering welding solutions in the expanding Chinese market, KWSH is working on strengthening its business and undertaking the training of its local staff to better serve the Chinese market.
