It is reported that large diameter X80 spiral-welded steel pipe has been produced for the first time in China by Hebei Province-based pipe producer North China Petroleum Steel Pipe Co as reported by China Petroleum Daily. The pipe in question has a diameter of 1,422 mm and wall thickness of 21.4 mm.

North China Petroleum Steel Pipe Co is a joint venture of Tianjin-based Bohai Equipment Manufacturing Co and CNPC Hong Kong, both subsidiaries of Beijing-based China National Petroleum Corporation. The company targets an annual output of 700,000 tonnes and annual sales revenues exceeding CNY 5 billion.
