It is reported that Shandong Province based Chinese steelmaker Laiwu Iron and Steel Corporation has produced 31.21 million tonnes of manganese added cold rolled sheet in specifications of 2.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 1.2 mm at its cold rolled steel product line thereby enlarging its product range.

The composition of the cold rolled sheets in question includes 0.62% to 0.70% C, 0.90% to 1.20% Mn, 0.17% to 0.37% Si, ≤0.035% S, and ≤0.035% P. This cold rolled sheet is of high strength and hardness and is usually used in the automobile, electronic and transportation industries.

Laiwu Steel has also announced that in August this year its shipbuilding steel plate output totaled 8,000 tonnes. All 100% of the products produced reached the required standard. In addition, in August Laiwu Steel cost of producing shipbuilding steel plate was down CNY 30 per tonne MoM.
