
It is reported that Liaoning government launched the list of a second batch of 45 steel mills for rectifications recently which is expected to cut sulfur dioxide emission by 900 tonnes and dust by 10,000 tonnes.
As per report, some steel producers in local still run on backward equipments, with insufficient environmental protection measures, which bring heavy pressure on waste emission for local government
Totaling 27 mills among the second batch are required to be closed, 4 asked for inefficient equipments elimination, 11 mandated for environment improvement and 3 for rectification in a limited period.
It's learned that local authorities have earlier publicized the first batch of steel mills for rectification and reaped some effects equipments in 20 mills have been dismantled with the remaining 5 being closed. The move cut sulfur dioxide emission by 105 tonnes and dust of 825 tonnes.
