
China Knowledge quoted according to Liaoning Electric Power Co Ltd controlled by State Grid of China that Liaoning Province located in the northeast of the country invested nearly CNY 20 billion in power grids in 2011.
In 2011, the province added power generators with a total installed capacity of 4.1 million kilowatts and increased the electricity delivering capacity in rural areas from 66 kilovolt amperes to 2 million KVA which eased the power shortage for 359,000 peasants.
On December 19 2011, Liaoning put a 220-kV transformer substation into operation to principally supply power for citizens in Dalian a tourism city of the province.
A 500-kV power project has also been started construction in its Yanzhou city and is expected to go into operation in August 2013 with 65 iron towers and a total cable length of 45.29 kilometers.
At the end of last year, Liaoning had 4.02 million kilowatts in installed capacity of wind power, the major new energy in the province, where the total cable length for wind power transmission had reached 305.9 kilometer.
