
China Knowledge quoted according to the latest statistics released by Beijing Statistics Bureau that Beijing, the capital of China saw its gross domestic product rise 8%YoY to CNY 741.81 billion in the first half of this year.
The growth rate was 0.6 percentage points lower than that in the first quarter. CNY 4.77 billion of the GDP was generated by the primary sector, 1.3% more than in the same period of 2010. CNY 166.68 billion and CNY 570.36 billion were generated in the secondary sector and the tertiary sector, 7.3%YoY and 8.2%YoY respectively.
Value added output in the industrial sector increased 8.1%YoY to CNY 140.6 billion in the first half and that in the construction industry grew 2.8%YoY to CNY 26.08 billion.
Mr Yu Xiuqin a spokesperson of the Beijing Statistics Bureau said that the slowdown in the city GDP was a result of the local government controls in the industrial and property and automobile sectors.
