China Knowledge quoted according to latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics that China's gross domestic product grew 8.9%YoY in the fourth quarter of last year.

The GDP growth in the fourth quarter was lower than the 9.7% in the first quarter, 9.5% in the second quarter and 9.1% in the third quarter. On QoQ basis the country GDP grew 2.0% from the third quarter of 2011.

Last year, China GDP totalled about CNY 47.16 trillion growing 9.2% from 2010. The growth was 1.2 percentage points higher than the 10.4% increase in the previous year.

The GDP last year included CNY 4.77 trillion generated by the primary sector up by 4.5%YoY. CNY 22.06 trillion and CNY 20.33 trillion were generated in the secondary sector and the tertiary sector up by 10.6%YoY and 8.9%YoY.

The country grain output rose 4.5% year on year to 571.21 million tonnes in 2011 reflecting a growth for the eighth consecutive year.
