
It is reported that Chinese steel giant Baosteel Group has announced that its Jiangsu Province based subsidiary Meishan Mining Co has completed construction work on the extension of its phase two project.
The extension of the phase two project on which construction work started on March 28 2004 focused on exploration for iron ore at a depth of 330 meters to 420 meters beneath the ground.
In the 2006-2010 period, Meishan Mining recorded a raw iron ore output of 19.98 million tonnes and an iron ore concentrate output of 11 million tonnes with sales of iron ore concentrate reaching 10.99 million tonnes.
