It is reported that No 5 blast furnace of Meishan Steel was put into operation on June 2 which marks the completion of new round development construction project of Meishan Steel and also lays a solid foundation for its building of the world-class carbon steel base.

The new round development construction projects is comprised of a 1780 HR production line, two 250 tonnes converters, No.5 4070 cubic meter blast furnace and corresponding whole set associated equipments. This series of construction is just like to build fresh new Meishan Steel.

After two years' hard work, the No.5 blast furnace which is the last one of the project was put into operation. As the largest blast furnace of Meishan Steel, No.5 blast furnace is designed to annually yield 3.27 million tonnes molten iron.
