The Chinese domestic steel market is in for another erratic phase just when the market seemed settling down for stability. This freakish attribute recurs intermittently playing truant with the sentiments.
Over the past 45 days the steel prices had maintained a steady recovery giving solace to the domestic players and arousing hopes in the global arena.
However over the last couple of days build up for a stable revival seems to be going haywire with changing dynamics on the following counts:
People’s Bank of China indicating future hike in interest rates to curb inflation which increased from March to April.
Sudden unrest in mills with respect to power rationing as the summer approaches has left them in lurch looking for rear guard action to adjust production has engulfed the market in uncertainty sending the buyers in a huddle.
The Chinese Long Product Price Index CLPPI has gone down by 34 points last week whereas the Chinese Flat Products Index CFPPI also down by 26 points. The overall price index CHISPI declined by 30 points.
