It is reported that National Development & Reform Commission of China lately released the list of the first batch award winners in 2009 energy saving & tech upgrading bounty project in which Zenith Steel will win CNY 7,840,000 of bounty as its project of low temperature power generation by waste heat passed the check of NDRC

Zenith Steel a large composite steelmaker engaging in iron smelting, steel making, steel product-rolling, coking, cement, power generating, heat supply, logistics and international traders saved 39,200 tonnes of energy from its energy saving project. According to the bounty project, the mill will gain CNY 7,840,000 of prize as per tonne bounty is at CNY 200.

Zenith owns CNY 14 billion of assets in all with 2008’s sales revenue up to CNY 25 billion. As one of local large energy consumer, the mill used 1.7717 million tonnes of standard coal as much as CNY 2.5 billion.

The main energy using facilities of Zenith includes a 180 square meters sinter circle cooling line, two 40 tonne converters, a 90 tonne ultra high power electric furnace and four heating furnaces.
