It is reported that Nanjing Iron & Steel United Co Ltd medium plate works is just a five year old mill and soon become into top class producers in China after it realized the breakthrough of several key technologies in the first three quarter of this year.
As per report, in 2009 the works made great successes in developing technologies and refined itself into the top medium plate producers in China. It’s learned that the works declared 31 patents including 19 patents of invention in the five years.

In January to August the works made flaw detection to 233,729 tonnes of plates with the up to standard rate at 99.24% higher than domestic average of 95% and world average of 98%. Since 2009, the works forwardly offered its ship plate consumers fringe services to develop its ship plate market share. The works still churned out 6mm*3150mm plate for Dalian Shipyard becoming the only one to produce the product in China.

In 2009, the works successfully grew into one of the mills able to supply 12MnNiVR steel plate for oil storage tank in batches. As learned, those mills only contained five ones like Baosteel, Anshan Steel and Wuhan Steel in 2008. Nanjing Steel made 12MnNiVR plate known for its higher up to standard rate of 94.6% than others’ 85% to 90% shared the most market with Baosteel.

The works succeeded in the trial production of 9Ni steel, which only can be produced by Taiyuan Steel in China. The works finally reduced the phosphor content of the 9Ni steel to below 0.006% and saw the product pass the high temperature check. In addition, Nanjing Steel’s medium plate works won many market orders thank to its advantage of technologies. The works fulfilled many urgent orders the 20 meters ship plates for Rongsheng Heavy Industry and the S355J2+N+Cu steel for Czech nuclear power plant project, etc.
