China Metallurgical News reported that Ningxia Wanlong New Material Co Ltd held ceremony on August 8th in Zhongwei a northwest city of China, to celebrate the start of building its 1 million tonnes per year color steel plate project, which is undertaken by BERIS Engineering and Research Corporation.

According to the construction plan, the project will be completed in 18 month and then realize CNY 28 billion of sales revenue, twice as much as the GDP of Zhongwei.

According to the report, the rare earth resources there will be used as additives to produce color steel plate. With the development of the project, the related industries of ferronickel, ferrochromium and sulfuric acid are expected to be nourished. With that, the northwest city is hoped to develop into the largest production base of electrolytic manganese, nickel and rare earth colored steel plates in China.
